Indiana National Guard supplement grant

Through a partnership with the Indiana National Guard, The Indiana Commission for Higher Education guarantees 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees for eligible members of the Indiana Air and Army National Guard. Students can attend either full-time or part-time and receive the National Guard Tuition Supplement Grant (NGSG) but can only be used in the fall and spring semesters.

Students must contact their unit commander to apply for the NGSG and for certification. Students must also be recertified each semester to receive the NGSG. See if you meet the qualifications for this award.

Amount: 100% of tuition and regularly assessed fees. 

Deadline: Five days before the upcoming semester.

Child of a disabled veteran

Indiana’s Child of a Disabled Veteran Program, Child of Purple Heart Recipient and Public Safety Officer Supplemental Grant Program, collectively known as the CVO program, provide tuition and fee assistance for some veterans and dependents of military and public safety officers, including:

  • Eligible children of disabled Indiana veterans
  • Eligible children and spouses of certain members of the Indiana National Guard killed while on state active duty
  • Eligible children and spouses of certain Indiana public safety officers killed in the line of duty

This benefit is handled by the Office of Student Financial Services

If your parent is at least 70% disabled veteran (and deemed unemployable by the VA) or died due to a service-related injury you may be eligible for both Indiana and Federal benefits. Contact the Office for Veterans and Military Personnel with questions pertaining to eligibility.
