Steps to apply for Army Tuition Assistance

To continue to use FTA, all Soldiers MUST create a Soldier account in ArmyIgnitED by going to www.armyignited.com and selecting “Get Started.” Soldiers training videos are available:

Select an Education Path from the Degree Selection that matches you program of study with IUPUI, IUPUC or IUFW (depending on which campus you are admitted to).  For assistance with creating your education path, click the link below:

Meet with your advisor to verify and obtain your degree plan and enroll in your courses with IUPUI, IUPUC or IUFW

Complete the MACHForm to obtain the EI FTA Request Form. Once you receive and have completed the EI FTA Request Form you will need to submit it to the OVMP for processing. This MUST be done prior to 15 days before the start of coursework.

Once the OVMP has uploaded the proper files you will need to select the Courses from the course list  in ArmyIgnitED and Confirm these courses for Tuition Assistance consideration.

 
  • The institution cannot guarantee payment of tuition assistance as promised by the U.S. Army. If your Tuition Assistance is rejected by ArmyIgnitED the balance of the account remains a student debt.
  • FTA cannot be awarded if submitted after the class start date (AR 621-5).
  • FTA can be requested as early as 60 days prior to the class start date.
  • Step 5 (Above) must be completed NO LATER THAN five (5) days before the class start date.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to manage and maintain knowledge of any changes in the mechanics of the ArmyIgnitED program.
  • TA covers tuition only. TA will not pay for fees institutions levy, unless authorized by DoD Instruction 1322.25.
  • The Army will fund 100% of the tuition for up to 16 hours of credit, not to exceed $250 per credit hour (for a total of up to $4,000 per fiscal year).
